What is the tmXxine console prototype?
Software to control and augment multidimensional hardware

What initial components will the console support?
Particle reception
Particle/wave projection
Topological representation

Which language is being used for the Console?
The prototype Console will be constructed in a Java applet generated by NetLogo. An early non working version is at the bottom of this page. May take several minutes to load

Why NetLogo?
Simple, reliable, generates java

What were you looking for in a language?
Beginner friendly language such as Logo, Drape, Hand
AI potential
Flexibility

How was this decision arrived at?
We are constantly evaluating languages
Commercial languages such as Flex and Open Source such as MONO are awaiting completion and may stilt the creative input we require

Why did you choose this over Squeak and Curl
Carabunga!
NetLogo has Turtle Power!
We have not.
Both these systems can still be incorporated in tmXxine pages and future projects
Netlogo is being used for the prototype because of ease of use (LOGO is available for programmers as young as two)
Logo is a subset of Lisp and is an easy introduction into AI programming

Why is the language so important?
A soup is only as potentially good as its ingredients. We are very much orientated to an inclusive methodology and have kept the use of language quite loose

What are the current Goals and priorities?
Create a wiki
Create animated logo
Create newsletter
Prototype the most likely hardware that requires software - the self generating machine
Disassembling the future
